Let’s start from the start.

What initially started out from trying to come with solutions to a design prompt from a prompt generator, took multiple turns until eventually finding a direction for solving something real. We decided to explore the problem space further.

We started with the prompt:
Design a health inspection & monitoring app that will keep track of your health records, clinical visits and illness history.

So we did some research! 😉

Primary Research

Before doing a competitor analysis, to find the direction with research, we kept the research space open & explored all the problems patients face while & after consulting a doctor.
Interviews were conducted with doctors and patients to understand pain points of both of them.

Questions to DoctorsQuestions to Patients

After talking to Patients and Doctors, it helped us understand the patient-doctor relationship better and how the patients felt throughout a Doctor consultation. Insights from Interviews revealed that majority of patients would not consult online doctors for major health concerns because they cannot trust them and the lack of feeling connected to the doctor.

It helped us to pivot to solve for improving and fostering the doctor-patient relation.

Secondary Research

We looked at competitor applications to understand what problems & how they are being solved, to understand how they are the digitalizing the patient-doctor connection. Most of them connect you to a doctor virtually, you’ve never met.

None of the apps focused on solving for improving the current doctor-patient interaction flow.

Secondary Research

Identifying Key Features and mapping out the User’s journey on the application.

Learnings & Reflections

Solve for problems that you care about and move with speed:

Do not spend too much time in research and validating the problems. Its easy to feel lost & overwhelmed, that’s why its always a good idea to set a time frame.

Early Feedback and Re-iteration:

Its always good to get feedback on designs early on to save a lot of time, efforts into re-doing things & set the design direction.

Design fast, fail faster:

Do not be afraid to try new things. You don’t need to know everything to start. I spent a hefty amount of time creating the design system, finding the perfect colours, to maintain perfect contrast ratios, a lil bit of visual chaos is acceptable when trying to learn things.

Made with tears and ☕.
